On November 15, 2024, Rising Filipinas proudly hosted Ang Sarap! A Friendsgiving Potluck, a celebration of culture, community, and gratitude. Held at Beyond The Classroom in Pasadena, CA, this event brought together a vibrant and diverse group of attendees to enjoy Filipino traditions, share delicious food, and connect over a shared purpose.
Kamayan Style: A Taste of Tradition
One of the highlights of the evening was the Kamayan-style feast—a cherished Filipino tradition where food is laid out on banana leaves and enjoyed by hand. This immersive experience brought guests closer to Filipino heritage, sparking laughter, conversation, and connection as everyone dug into dishes like lechon, adobo, pancit, and puto. It was a joyful way to honor our roots and share a unique cultural experience with all who attended.
